Like any decisions, there are always contradicting reasons why people do certain things such as the decision to buy property. While there are reasons that discourage people to consider buying real estate, there are also reasons that encourage people to do so. Among the many reasons that discourages people to buy real estate are as follows:

Property, most especially houses, depreciates. This means that over time, the value of your house would decrease. This can be a sad reality when the time comes you need to sell it; you won't be able to get a better deal than when you got it.

It ties up a big bulk of your money. Since real estate involves a lot of money, much of your funds will be used up by it.

Responsibility. Owning a real estate property requires one to pay taxes every year; not to mention the effort you have to exert to keep it in tip-top shape.

However, for those who say that real estate is good investment property, usually their reasons run along the line of:

Real estate properties are not easily worn out in a very short span of time. Some even last for decades! Hence, some people see it as an avenue to put their hard earned money into while being able to enjoy it for a long time.

Owning a property is one avenue to bask in contentment and fulfillment. At the end of the day, you are able to come home and rest in a place that is the fruit of your hard work.

More often than not, some people gauges success through the assets one has and real estate properties are one of them. Whatever the reason one has when considering buying a property or not, careful thought should be given so that one will not regret the final decision.
