Most cities have sections that are more cultural and sophisticated, and more hip and upscale than the rest. For San Diego City, this means the Gaslamp Quarter, an area that is not just trendy and cosmopolitan, but historic and cultural as well. It is a place that every visitor to the city must see.

The Gaslamp Quarter is 16.5 blocks filled with Victorian-era buildings, structures that have a large number of establishments in them. Establishments like the 30+ bars and clubs, 100+ restaurants and retail stores, and a number of theaters, art galleries, and trendy boutiques. In addition to these, there is also a large number of residential and business areas available, most of which are combined together.

Because of this, the Gaslamp Quarter has been seen as one of the most hip neighborhoods in the city. Gaslamp is a prime choice for theatergoers, clubbers, diners, artists, and shoppers from all over the city. And due to the residential areas, it has also become an ideal place to purchase Downtown San Diego real estate.

For tourists and visitors, the Gaslamp Quarter has a number of hotels to choose from. They differ in quality, style, and overall feel, from classic, Victorian-style dwellings perfect for nostalgia, to cutting-edge modern suites with lots of modern amenities. This means, people from different areas, who have different lifestyles, can visit the Gaslamp Quarter and easily find the perfect place to stay in.

And once there, they can go to any of the wide variety of destinations in the area, like Croce's Restaurants and Bars, which is a local landmark that offers fine dining and jazz, and George's On Fifth which is a classic restaurant serving American food and what people say are Gaslamp's best steaks. For the drinkers and clubbers, there's Side Bar, which is a hip-hop oriented bar with music and cocktails, and Field Authentic Irish Pub and Restaurant, which serves true Irish fare from the whiskeys and beer, to the music and even the actual bar itself! And for a true cultural experience, there's The William Heath Davis Historical House Museum, which is Gaslamp's oldest standing structure, and The Shout, a place where musicians duel against each other.

There are many more destinations that people can enjoy in the area. All they need to do is go and discover places for themselves! The Gaslamp Quarter is there for everyone to enjoy and experience, a must-see destination for visitors to the city!
