Condos have gotten the bad rap for some time. They are sometimes associated with Sunbelt retirement communities and therefore have an image of a slow-moving and archaic form of living. While it is true that condos first became popular in snowbird localities such as Florida and Arizona, it is far from the truth that they are built exclusively for seniors who like to golf. Condos can be owned by anyone who wants to own their own home but doesn't have the time or skills to take care of their external property. Buying a condo means buying into a condo association who will shovel your walk during the winter and trim your grass during the summer. They will take care of the hallways and lobby in your building if you own an urban condo. Because condos are not inhibited by where you live, you should not be surprised to find so many Toronto condos for sale.

Toronto is one of the best places to live in Canada. It is a lakeside town and therefore less cold in the winter. It is full of business, art, and culture, as well as still close enough to Canada's hinterland that you can enjoy a full range of outdoor activities.

Because of the sheer volume or art and culture that occur in Toronto every year, thousands of people are flocking to the city on a regular basis. Many of them would like to own their own home, and in a big city, buying a condo is a great way to do that.

Old industrial construction is being torn down to make way for shops, restaurants and more living spaces for the thousands of people who are moving to Toronto each year. The city is truly experiencing a renaissance.

What is happening in Toronto some may call the process of gentrification. This means that run down industrial neighborhoods are being reclaimed by people who are emotionally invested in their new neighborhood. They are filled up empty buildings and turning empty lots into parks and other green spaces.

Gentrification means that the streets are clean, you know your neighbors, and you feel comfortable heading out at eleven o'clock because you forgot to pick up milk for tomorrow's breakfast.

The neighborhood of South Etobicoke is one of those neighborhoods that are beginning to be gentrified. King West, Yorkville, and the Village are all neighborhoods that have been reclaimed from the brink of poverty. With all the Toronto condos for sale in these and other happening neighborhoods, you get the feeling that Toronto would be a fantastic place to live.
